Well, here we are again, months after my last post!  I really am the worst at keeping a blog, lol.  In all fairness though, keeping up with four kids, two of them babies; a business, and a household leaves little time for sharing.  The littlest one is now crawling around and just growing way too fast!

We've been working hard at building a new coop, we went with a very cute design by Fresh Eggs Daily:  New England Cape Coop Plans. It looks very cute, the older girls are happily clucking around in it.  We've got some new babies as you can see; our new Black Orp chicks in the picture above!  They are happily chirping away in their brooder as I type this!  We almost lost one at a week old, I had to feed it by hand for two days and it was completely listless.  I noticed its crop wasn't changing and going down in fullness so we force fed it some grit just in case it wasn't taking in any on its own.  The next day it was better and being the loud mouth of the group again.  I don't know if it was the vitamin water for two days or the grit, but it worked!  I am so thankful!!

It is also time for fall veggie planting!  This weekend will be full of transplanting the broccoli, kale, mustard, cabbages and spinach.  We will also be getting the carrots, garlic, beets, and lettuce direct sowed!

To celebrate our new chicks I thought I should host a give away!  The newest stamp in my store is this chicken stamp!  I will be using rafflecopter to host it, here's how you can get four entries:

Gotcha Again!

So, the kids have declared tomorrow practical joke war day, and I have to say, I cannot wait!  Matt and I are going to switch what beds they are sleeping in so they wake up in the wrong beds tomorrow.  Then, when they wake up we are going to have the clocks set to 5-ish, and are going to be making dinner to try to make them think they slept all day!  Lol, bacon wrapped chicken and pasta for breakfast!  Among other plans for the day is our serving of caramel apples...except two of them will actually be caramel covered onions!  Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves for us!

Also tomorrow is Cars 2 at the drive-in!!  As Mater would say, my youngest son is more excited than a tornado in a trailer park!

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Giving a Face(book) to the Name

Today I finally set up my facebook page for the Etsy shop.  To get things rolling, how about a giveaway!  Just like my facebook page for a chance to win a free hand carved rubber stamp!  This won't be some dinky little scrap carve either, it will be something nice ;)  Here is the link: Sweet Spot Stamp Shop on Facebook. Good luck, and thanks for liking!

One Small Step...

A couple of days after the last post, we got the terribly sad news that Matt's grandfather passed away, so we went to Arkansas for a few days for the funeral.  It was very nice to see the whole family, though I wish it had been under better circumstances.  Lorelai got to meet her Great Grandmother, which I am so glad for, she is in her 80's and sharp as a tack and a very strong woman.

We got back the night before River's party, and stayed up all night long mixing, concocting, baking, and decorating!  I am so thankful that Matt and his sister Teresa stayed up with me and helped with the madness! There wouldn't have been a party otherwise!

The party itself went really well, River said it was his best yet.  We blew up balloons with baking soda and vinegar, made slime, did an egg drop, made some exploding film canister rockets, and did a few mentos geysers!  The day was extremely windy and cold, which I wasn't expecting at all.  There were plans for an exploding lava cake, but the recipe I decided on needed warm jello mixture.  Well, in the blustery cold, my jello solidified, so the was a little less explode and a little more ooze.  Oh well, it tasted very yummy!!

In shop news I had my first Etsy sale, which was exciting, now I am waiting on pins and needles for another!  I have posted more stamps, and have more to put on as well, but I have also made an e-book that I am hoping will do well.  There seemed to be an endless amount of information out there on how to carve stamps using gauges, but not that much on how to carve using a craft knife, which is my personal favorite way.  So, I put all the info together needed to be able to make a stamp from beginning to end.  Please head the warning on the front of the book though:  "May Become Habit Forming" I know I am addicted!

A Little Maternity Leave

Here she is, our beautiful baby girl!  She was born December 29 perfectly healthy and perfectly amazing!  She is such a great baby, though sleep is not her favorite thing and she fights it like all get out!  It has been a fantastic four months getting to know her though :)

I had my first Artfire sale about a week ago, which was completely thrilling!  It inspired me to come back from my baby hiatus, and jump back in.  We were without power for three days after that wave of storms swept the south, and I spent the entire electricity free days carving up my own storm.  It was actually kind of nice not having power, I got so much done!

This week will be dedicated to birthday party prep, my oldest, River, just turned ten and his party is next weekend.  He is having a science party, I hope I can pull it off, lol!  It should be a lot of fun....I will post pics of all the ooey gooey exploding fun!

Hey Momma!

I am such an obviously amateur blogger!  Short and sweet today, just wanted to show off the stamp I just finished for use in Lorelai's baby album ;)
